Patients needs
I am a member of the MMMA.
I've been to a couple meetings and they are to educate us about the law, which is great. But the patients majority of the patients I spoke to after the meeting have the same problem I have. We can not find clones of medical grade marijuana. Will there be a place on here where people can share or something like that?
Nice site! Good job.

As soon as this gets running... I hope to develop a network where patients can help one another without having to seek a caregiver service. So, hopefully... we will see more faces around here. :O)

I just don't see where anyone is really helping a patient out that doesnt have connections.

Re: Patients needs
Have you attended a compassion club meeting yet? They are excellent places to do one on one introductions. So far I have attended four throughout the state and have made many, many new friends. As far as your concerns go...patience my friend, patience...it will take a bit of time for people to change thier "underground" mind set, to the refreshingly new "free and easy" mind set. I know that it seems to be taking forEVER for this whole ball to get rollin', but it is rollin' just the same.

Hey JB,
Yeah, I've been to the meetings. I've got the rules down pat and I'm not sure there is any sense in going to another one. If you read the first post... that is how I found out so many patients are in need of clones so they can even start growing there own. Everyone says "grow your own", but no one is giving them the means to do so. So it is up to these types of clubs to do so. No one at the meetings even want to talk about it... at least not in Wayne and Oakland Counties.

I understand where you are coming from. People are afraid to do anything til they attain legal status. No one is "really" legal yet, except under the affirmative defense part of the law. It will change alot after the 6th and as we start to see cards sent out to patients and caregivers. Personally, I have no desire to deal with anyone not holding a card, I just don't want to be a crash test dummy. Patience is the key here.
Peace...j.b.
p.s. I would not rely on all of the things you have seen at a "pre" legal status CC meeting, we have plans to address the various problems etc. that have arisen at later meetings. You should plan on attending your area CC meetings regularly, as there will be much more happening there on subsequent dates.

Re: Patients needs
There are no compassion clubs set up in the SW Mich area...it's up to you to do...get the kit from MMMA and have a go at it...I'm the host of the Brighton CC, it is turning into a full time job already and we are just at the cusp of this whole movement...we have about 35 members today...a year from now it will be around 200...I get 5-10 emails from new folks that are interested and another 5-10 from old members with questions or concerns. I also visit many of the home-bound patients on a weekly basis, they are a lonely lot and need someone to bolster thier spirits. Hopefully, we can get more volunteers to help with home visits, but so many of our members are sick themselves (myself included HepC patient). So, if you have some energy and really want to make a difference...start a compassion club for SW Mich..

Re: Patients needs
That is really some thing to consider. Yes I too have Hep C and I have been through all the treatments twice and nothing can stop its act ive stage. For the last two years I have been in to just trying to stay as fit and comfortable as possible. My mornings are never good. But I do okay later in the day so it is a possibility plus my wife is a strong supporter of me and a volunteer Queen. We already visit shut ins for church so a few more. I will think this over. Thanks for your help.

Re: Patients needs
Yes, I would like to know where the CC meetings are at as well.
I too am very curious as to how OR where are we to get clones?
This is Michigan and how or where are we to get the medicine we
so desparately need?
Thank you Big Daddy, for helping us get this voice out there. I am
very concerned.
Please someone help us to get these answers.

Re: Patients needs
Gettin clones takes only one thing...some way to interface with others that are interested in the same thing that you are. I have yet to attend a CC meeting that did not have a social hour after the meeting. This is when you will meet the man who has it growin'...time to end the fear, folks. If you don't feel comfortable interfacing with others, then it is a problem that you need to overcome. No one can give you anything if you aren't willing to step outside of that fear. Get to know some new folks...sure I know that this is a hell of a transition from the old days, when everyone kept thier business to themselves, but it is a new, brighter day. Come on out into the daylight and find what it is that you need...that is the only answer.
Peace...j.b.
